2011 Maple Valley Junior Football and Cheer
General Season Information
Requirements and expectations for the Maple Valley Junior Football and Cheer program.
Please remember all board members and coaches are volunteers, we are here for the kids and the MVJFCA program. Participating in MVJFCA is a privilege and all members are required to follow the code of conduct.
Commitment: In order for the Raiders to have a quality program and to support all of our members we ask that all athletes and families commit to the program. The season begins August 1 and continues through Championships in November. Games are on either Saturday or Sunday beginning August 27/28. Uniform and Equipment handouts will be at the end of July.
Volunteers make MVJFCA a great organization! Each family is required to volunteer at least 4 hours per season per child. A $40.00 volunteer deposit is applied at registration per child. The volunteer charge will be refunded when the volunteer hours are completed. Some of the volunteer opportunities include: Concessions, Apparel, Announcer, Field Help on Game Days, participating on a committee for a fundraising event. When you have volunteered you will receive a voucher for the time given, once 4 hours is completed you can turn in the vouchers for a refund.
Football:
- Practices are 5 days a week beginning August 1st and will be 3-4 days a week when school starts.
- Athletes between the ages of 7-14 (By July 31st) are eligible. Players are placed on a team based on Age and Weight. Space is limited by team – 40 players with a waiting list established.
- Players must play in 4 or more games to be eligible for playoff and championship games.
- All Players will be given the opportunity to learn the game and compete against kids with similar skill levels either in league games, Monday night games or 5th quarter games (half time of league games). MVJF&C plays to win, as do all franchises in the league. Playing time and positions is at the sole discretion of the coach and his/her staff. League playing time is earned through hard work and dedication.
- First time players, returning kids that need more experience and most 7 year olds generally play during 5th quarter. 5th quarter is an opportunity for kids to learn to play football against kids with similar skill levels to protect the child from unnecessary injury and allow them to progress at a pace suitable to them and their abilities. 5th quarter games are dependent on other franchises ability to field a team.
