Crowd Participation:
Cheerleader's would like A LOT of crowd participation this year. You can make signs, please make sure that they are not so big it blocks someone’s view. There are several parts in the cheers where the chant asks for the crowd to repeat what the girls say so be sure to listen for this and YELL or STOMP! We will also have time at the start and throughout where the cheerleader's will be yelling cheers at the crowd from across the gym. There will be papers in the stands to tell you what chants we will call and the word to those chants. The girls LOVE it when the crowd participates!!!

Tahoma Bond Information

The Tahoma School District is running a bond on April 26th. As you likely know, our schools are full, and more kids are coming in the next decade. All of our schools have run out of permanent classroom space (buildings) and the district has added an ever-increasing number of portables for classroom use at every grade level. We can no longer accommodate our growth without impacting our students quality education.

The April 26th bond will add capacity at every grade level. Projects include:
  • A new fifth elementary school
  • New wing at Tahoma Junior HS
  • New wing at Tahoma Senior HS
  • Rebuilt Lake Wilderness Elementary School
  • major maintenance at Rock Creek ES and Glacier Park ES

For a complete project list and greater detail, visit: http://www.tahomasd.us/about/news/PDF%20files/BondMeasureDescription01-25-11[1].pdf

There are a variety of events within the next month that we hope you will be able to attend and participate in. Every vote counts in this election. If you don't believe us, just ask Snoqualmie Valley who just lost their bond election by one vote. Our parents need to participate in this election. In our previous school levy vote, 59% of our parents did not vote. Here is a list of events coming up:
  • March 10 - 'Rally in the Valley' at Tahoma High School's multipurpose room, 7:00-8:30 pm. A community rally for our schools that will feature student performances, community speakers and 'Elvis' will be in the house!
  • March 24 - PTA sponsored information night at Lake Wilderness Elementary, 7:00-8:30 pm. Learn more about of the details of the bond; why we need it, what the bond will build, and what are the consequences to our students' education if it doesn't pass.
  • March 30 - Tahoma School District information night, 6:30-7:30 pm at Central Services Board room. An opportunity to hear from our district leadership on the full details about the bond and its impact on our education system.
