Q: When does the season start/end?
A: Season starts Monday, August 2nd 2010 and usually runs through the 2nd week of November.

Q: What are the age limits?
A: Ages for football are 7-14, Cheer 5-15 (ages 5-6 are mascots and have limited space availability).

Q: Where do you practice?
A: Practices are generally held at Tahoma Middle School practice fields.  Location may change due to field availibity.

Q: What times are Football practices?
A: Football practices usually run from M-F, 6PM-8PM during summer and Tue-Thu 5:30PM-7:30PM, once school begins.  Times are subject to change.

Q: What time are the Cheer practices?
A: Cheer practices are M-F 6PM-8PM during the month of August and then Tues-Thu 5:30PM-7:30PM once school begins in September. The practice times for cheer may increase during competition, which is optional. (November).  Times are subject to change.

Q: When should I pick up my child?
A: Always be prompt in picking up your child. Suggested time to arrive is 7:30, unless otherwise notified by coach.

Q: Will you cancel practices due to bad weather?
A: Rarely. Rain or shine practice continues. Exceptions would be Lightning/Earthquakes etc. If such a condition occurs please pick up your child immediately.

Q: Can I go on the field to ask the coach a question?
A: We ask that you do not go onto the field during practice. Please wait until after practice to approach a coach.

Q: Can I bring my pet?
A: No, pets are not allowed on school grounds.

Q: We plan vacations during the month of August, will that be a problem?
A: We understand August is in the middle of the summer season and coaches take that into consideration. Attendance is important for several reasons including safety. Especially for first year participants who need to learn basic hitting skills.

Q: If I am not happy with a coaching decision who can I contact?
A: Our Athletic Director, Chris Ford or President, Jeff Granlund handle all conflicts. Please discuss any problems or concerns you may have with either.

Q: Should I notify you if my child is sick or has a prior commitment during a games or practice? And how?
A: Yes, please notify your son/daughter's team mom regarding any absences.

Q: I am interested in volunteering, how do I become involved?
A: Please notify any board member, team mom, coach or you may contact us through our contact form. We are always looking for volunteers, so any help is greatly appreciated!

Q: Do our kids receive any recognition at the end of the season?
A: All kids will receive trophies for participation with Maple Valley Raiders at the season close. Each team may have a banquet in which coaches may have additional awards as well.

Q: How do I identify a Board Member, Coach or other Maple Valley Raiders Volunteer?
A: All volunteers will have on picture badge during games and usually practices.
